The structure and function of the brain is influenced by the context of people’s lives, especially sex and gender. These influences include hormones and genes, as well as culture, social environment and personal life experiences. In turn, these factors can influence our health and successful aging.
The purpose of this study is to learn whether cross-sex hormone treatment influences cognition (thinking, memory and attention). We measure the performance of transgender participants on a series of cognitive tasks and ask them to complete a questionnaire.
The goal of this study is to provide the scientific and Trans community with much-needed data about cognition in transgender people and the effects of hormone treatment.
We are currently recruiting study participants.
